Water is recycled and reused elsewhere in the facility
In 1990, BMW became the world's first carmaker to establish an in-house pilot dismantling project at its factory in Landshut, Germany.
Valuable parts and components such as the engine, transmission and starter motor are removed and sent to reconditioning and rebuilding specialty companies.
Upon arrival, the vehicles are thoroughly inspected
Recyclable materials in "pure" form are removed.
